The 74 tracks on this set were recorded in New York from 1928-35, and they feature Purvis with His Orchestra, and as a sideman with Smith Ballew, Hal Kemp, Ed Kirkeby, Rube Bloom, Tommy Dorsey, Adrian Rollini, Benny Goodman, Dick McDonough, Seger Ellis, Lee Morse, Eddie Lang and others.
